Recorded call with Matthew Roberts and Robert Kidd.
Date: 11/21/19
Summary
Date: 11/21/19
Summary
- We normally charge people who rent vehicles from us $250/wk. I reminded Mr. Kidd that we would normally never allow a renter to keep a vehicle without paying for more than 3 days. We concluded that Mr. Kidd owed us 3 weeks of rent, $850 balance.
- Mr. Kidd thinks that he can persuade us to give him a vehicle to use without paying his outstanding balance. Which is obviously ridiculous.
- Mr. Kidd most likely left his complaint, when we took his vehicle on Saturday. He came in to see our mechanic and I told our mechanic to hold the vehicle and not let him leave with it because he was so far behind and he kept pushing it off.
- Mr. Kidd admitted that the money he and his wife said they would have on Monday 11/18/19, he spent on bills and rent, instead of paying his balance owed to us. Yet, he expects us to give him the vehicle back to him and let him drive it until the 26th of the month.
- The issue with the vehicle was minor and we took the opportunity to retain the vehicle under the pretense that we cared about his safety and that the repair was critical to the proper functioning of the vehicle.
- We can only assume that he became upset after we would NOT let him leave with the vehicle. We did give him a courtesy ride home, at no cost to him.
- You can see that Mr. Kidd is expressing gratitude and thankfulness for all the help that we've given him...which wasn't by choice. He kept our vehicle and when we asked that he pay or bring the vehicle back, he would tell us stories that money was coming to just give him a little more time. I called him on Saturday morning to tell him to bring payment, or bring the vehicle and he put his wife on the phone in an attempt to get us to continue to let him drive the vehicle, until "Monday". His wife explained their income and "confirmed" that his check should be there and they would get caught up. At that point however, it was too late on our end.

Summary
- This call was a week after the 11/21/19 call. Another words, on Wed 11/13/19... over a week ago... Mr. Kidd was behind on his rental payments by 19 days (at that point), which is almost 3 weeks. On Friday 11/15/19 He was 3 weeks behind.
- He started this call with his excuses of why he hasn't paid to date. I was trying to get him to commit to catching up on his payments and gave him NOT the next day, but 2 days to get his financial affairs together and make his payment(s).
- On this call I explained to him once again, that if he didn't make his payment that he had to bring the vehicle back or we were going to come get it.
- Friday came and went and he did NOT pay anything.
- Saturday morning (11/16/19) - I called and he started stating more excuses as to why he didn't pay and then put his wife on the phone in an attempt to convince me that they were going to pay us on Monday.
