A chance to Serve from the Heart

Are you searching for a meaningful way to spend your time—a role where every hour you dedicate creates tangible change in the lives of your neighbors? We are looking for passionate volunteers ready to roll up their sleeves and serve from the heart. This is more than just volunteering; it is a direct investment in the health and resilience of the Jacksonville community.

About Our Mission
For over a decade, our non-profit organization has been committed to improving the overall well-being of individuals and families facing adversity in Jacksonville, Florida. Our mission focuses on providing essential assistance in three critical areas: affordable housing, transportation, and food distribution. We are dedicated to offering hands-on solutions that truly lift people up.

Your Tangible Community Impact
As a volunteer, you will not just observe; you will actively participate in empowering our community. Here is how you will make a difference:
  • Affordable Housing: You will help families transition from renting to owning a home, securing their financial future. You will guide them through the home-buying process, highlighting the long-term economic benefits of ownership over renting and connecting them with the necessary resources to achieve this crucial milestone. This could involve assisting with applications, move-in logistics, or connecting participants with specific resources.
  • Transportation: By assisting with transportation programs, you help remove a major barrier to employment, education, and medical care. Your service ensures people can reach vital destinations, enabling self-sufficiency.
  • Food Distribution: You will be on the front lines of our food assistance efforts. This is a direct, hands-on service that meets one of the most basic human needs.
  • Financial Empowerment: You will guide program participants through essential financial literacy tasks. This includes helping them complete a personal budget and providing ongoing consultations for credit improvement and debt relief.

The Rewards of Helping Others
While your service helps the community, it offers immense benefits to you as well:
  • Personal Well-being: Serving others can significantly reduce stress, increase your happiness, and enhance your self-esteem. You will gain a stronger sense of purpose and fulfillment that comes from knowing you are making a difference.
  • Professional and Personal Growth: This opportunity allows you to gain valuable new skills and strengthen your existing ones. You will also network with like-minded, compassionate people who share your passion for service.
  • Strengthened Communities: By supporting our non-profit, you are directly helping to build a stronger, more compassionate, and resilient community for everyone in Jacksonville.

Volunteer Expectations
We are seeking reliable, dedicated individuals to join our team. To ensure a successful experience for both you and our participants, we require the following:
  • Commitment: Must be able to volunteer at least 10 to 15 hours per week.
  • Physical Ability: You must be able to physically move around in and out of various environments, as your work may involve exposure to the elements. This ensures you can participate fully in our hands-on operations.
  • Organization: We need people who can manage tasks efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain accurate records. A detail-oriented approach is critical to ensuring our operations run smoothly.
  • Basic People Skills: This involves demonstrating empathy, active listening, and the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds who are facing challenging circumstances.
  • Financial Competency: Volunteers must have basic budgeting and financial competency.  You will be helping participants with a variety of financial matters.  You would be providing consultations that include but are not limited to; budgeting, credit improvement, debt relief, and financial literacy.
  • Technical & Legal: Must have basic computer skills, be 18 years of age, and possess a valid driver’s license.

A Path to Paid Employment
Volunteers who consistently demonstrate above-average aptitude and work ethic are considered first when paid positions become available. Show us your commitment and drive, and you could transition from serving from the heart... to a fulfilling, paid career with our mission.
